Or travel backward through time to the 31st to 40th centuries.

4000

A space freighter from Earth encounters a Dalek ship. This prompts a Space Security Service investigation into the Daleks' activities.

A week before "Dalek Cutaway."

Dalek Cutaway: Mission to the Unknown: Space Security Service agent Marc Cory discovers an alliance between the Daleks and several alien leaders. This alliance plans to invade Earth's solar system and seize control. Before he can send a warning to his superiors, Cory is killed, although his recorded message remains unharmed.

Presumably, this story takes place the same year as "The Daleks' Master Plan."

The Daleks' Master Plan: The Nightmare Begins; Day of Armageddon; Devil's Planet; The Traitors; Counter Plot; Coronas of the Sun; Volcano; Golden Death; Escape Switch; The Abandoned Planet; Destruction of Time: The 1st Doctor, Steven and Katarina discover the Daleks' plan to take over Earth's solar system with the help of its guardian, Mavic Chen. Katarina is killed while they try to escape with the taranium core of the Daleks' Time Destructor. Teaming up with Space Security Service agent Sara Kingdom, the group flee in the TARDIS. Eventually returning, they foil the Daleks' plan; Sara is killed when the Time Destructor is used.

4097

Korwin and Captain Kath McDonnell marry.

11 years before "42" (4108).

4100

The Evil of the Daleks: 6,7: The 2nd Doctor, Jamie, Theodore Maxtible, Edward Waterfield, and his daughter, Victoria, arrive on Skaro in the custody of the Daleks. The Daleks intend to have the Doctor infect human history with the "Dalek Factor," turning all humans into mental Daleks. The Doctor instead infects a number of Daleks with the "Human Factor," causing a civil war on Skaro. Maxtible and Waterfield are both killed in the fighting, and the Doctor promises Waterfield he will look after Victoria.

This portion of the story takes place on Skaro in an indeterminate future. I am placing these events 100 years after "The Daleks' Master Plan." I am theorizing that the Dalek-Movellan War in "Destiny of the Daleks" in 4500 takes place after this story, and that the civil war we see taking place here is one of the reasons that the Daleks are having such difficulties and need Davros' assistance.

The Tomb of the Cybermen: 1: The 2nd Doctor, Jamie and Victoria leave the planet Skaro.

4102

Riley Vashtee becomes estranged from his mother.

Six years before "42" (4108).

4108

"Half a universe away" from Earth, the space cargo ship S.S. Pentallian uses illegal technology to mine a sun for fuel, neglecting to scan for lifeforms first. Not long after, the ship finds itself uncontrollably pulled back toward the sun. A distress call is sent out.

Shortly before "42".

42: The 10th Doctor and Martha answer a distress call from the space cargo vessel S.S. Pentallian. Members of the crew have been possessed and are attempting to kill the rest of the crew. Meanwhile, the ship is pulled closer and closer to a nearby sun, which the ship had earlier mined for fuel. The Doctor discovers that sun is actually a living being and is attempting to retrieve the part of itself present on the ship. When the fuel is vented, the Pentallian crew regains control, although those possessed by the sun do not survive.

Placement is conjectural. Much preview/promotional material claimed that the story took place in "the 42nd century" and many fans have accepted this as a potential setting.

4182

Scooti Manista is born.

Scooti is 20 years old at the time of "The Impossible Planet".

4202

January: The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit: The 10th Doctor and Rose visit Krop Tor, a planet exhibiting many seemingly impossible attributes, in close orbit around the black hole K37 Gem 5. They encounter a deep-space exploration team attempting to drill to the planet's core to discover the power source that keeps the planet safely in orbit. The core is revealed to be a prison for a giant, horned Beast, claiming to be the Devil. The Beast takes control of the team's servants, the Ood, and wipes out many of the explorers until the Doctor and Rose are able to defeat the Beast, sending him into the black hole.

Placement is conjecture based on the date "43K 2.1" given in the episodes. I am treating 43K as meaning the 43rd century, and 2.1 being the second year and first month of that century.

4498

Deep space fleet Starship Engineer Tyssan is captured by the Daleks, and put to work on Skaro as part of a large slave labour force.

Two years before "Destiny of the Daleks" (4500).

4500

On the planet Skaro, Engineer Tyssan collapses while working as slave labour for the Daleks. He is left for dead and manages to escape, hiding from the Daleks for several days.

Several days before "Destiny of the Daleks."

Destiny of the Daleks: 1,2,3,4: The 4th Doctor and the 2nd Romana arrive on Skaro and discover the Daleks attempting to recover their creator, Davros. The Daleks need Davros' help in defeating the Movellans, a race of robots with whom they have been at war with centuries. The Doctor and Romana prevent the Movellans from destroying Skaro, and defeat the Daleks as well.

This story takes place on Skaro at an unspecified time in the future. The Dalek-Movellan war is described several times as going on for "centuries." If this story does take place after "The Evil of the Daleks," as I theorize, it must take place after 4100. "Centuries" after 4100 meets up nicely with the date of 4500 give in Parkin's A History of the Universe, which I will use.

Davros is picked up from Skaro by the Earth space fleet to stand trial for his crimes. For his sentence, he is to remain in suspended animation.

Shortly after "Destiny of the Daleks." Davros' sentence is revealed in "Resurrection of the Daleks."

4570

A cure for Beck's Syndrome is found.

According to the DJ, "forty years" before "Revelation of the Daleks" (4610).

4590

Resurrection of the Daleks: 1,2 ("long" episodes) or 1,2,3,4 ("short" episodes): The Dalek-Movellan war has ended with a Movellan victory. The Movellans have developed a virus which destroys Daleks. In an attempt to discover a cure, the Daleks rescue Davros from his prison-ship, although they have no intention of keeping him alive after he develops a cure. Davros, suspecting this, gains control over a number of Daleks to do his bidding. The 5th Doctor, Tegan and Turlough visit the ship through a time-corridor from 1984; they are followed by a group of Daleks when they return. Davros exposes the Daleks to the Movellan virus, but it affects him as well. The prison-ship is destroyed by a former Dalek minion.

Davros has been in suspended animation for 90 years since "Destiny of the Daleks" (4500).

Davros survives the prison-ship destruction in an escape vessel. He eventually reaches the planet Necros, where he takes over the Tranquil Repose mortuary and begins his career as the "Great Healer."

Just after "Resurrection of the Daleks," as revealed in "Revelation of the Daleks."

4610

Revelation of the Daleks: 1,2 ("long" episodes) or 1,2,3,4 ("short" episodes): The 6th Doctor and Peri are lured to the mortuary world of Necros by Davros in order to kill him. Davros is posing as the Great Healer, in charge of the Tranquil Repose mortuary, whose "residents" he uses to create a new army of Daleks, loyal only to him. The travellers escape death, Davros' army is destroyed through the self sacrifice of the assassin Orcini, and Davros is taken back to Skaro to stand trial by the Imperial Daleks.

Date is conjecture. Not too much time can have passed since "Resurrection of the Daleks," as Davros was not in suspended animation this time, but enough time is needed for Davros to have cultivated his "Great Healer" identity. I am arbitrarily placing this 20 years after "Resurrection."

The 6th Doctor returns the late Orcini's medal of honour to the Grand Order of Oberon.

Shortly after "Revelation of the Daleks," as the Doctor promised.

4660

Remembrance of the Daleks: 4: The Hand of Omega, following programming give by the Doctor, arrives in this time from 1963 and causes Skaro's sun to go supernova, completely destroying the Dalek homeworld.

Date is conjecture. Enough time need to have passed since "Revelation of the Daleks" for Davros to have become Emperor and started adding bio-implants to Daleks in experiments. I am arbitrarily adding fifty years to the date of "Revelation."

4687

Delta and the Bannermen: 1: The 7th Doctor and Mel, being the 10 billionth customers at a Galactic Tollport, win a trip to 1959 Disneyland through Nostalgia Trips. Meanwhile, Gavrok and his Bannermen almost wipe out the entire Chimeron race, with only their queen Delta surviving. Delta, hiding her last egg, sneaks on the Nostalgia tour-bus with Mel. The Doctor follows in the TARDIS. The Bannermen pursue the group.

Placement is arbitrary. These scenes take place in a far-future where galactic travel is commonplace, and time-travel is widespread enough that it is used to ferry around tourists.

4722

On the planet Karn, Maren, leader of the Sisterhood of Karn, discovers that the Sacred Flame has stopped producing the Sisterhood's Elixir of Life. The reason for this is simply a build-up of soot in the Flame's path to the surface from Karn's core.

"More than a year" before "The Brain of Morbius" (4723).

4723

The Brain of Morbius: 1,2,3,4: The 4th Doctor and Sarah land on the planet Karn, where they discover that evil renegade Time Lord Morbius, presumed dead, has had his brain preserved by a surgeon, Mehendri Solon. They also encounter the Sisterhood of Karn, a group of near-immortal psychics who share their secret of long-life with the Time Lords. Although the Doctor is unable to prevent Solon from giving Morbius a new body, Morbius is driven over a cliff to his death by the Sisterhood.

There is no clear date for this story. The main clues are the Doctor telling Sarah that they are "considerably after your time," and the possible discovery of a Mutt. If this is a Mutt from "The Mutants," that gives us some specific periods of time to narrow it down to. It is unlikely to have occurred during the Empire's occupation of Solos between 2473 and 2973, as Mutts would certainly not have been allowed off-planet in their own ships. The next 500 year "spring" period on Solos would be from 4473 to 4973, and I am arbitrarily picking the mid-point of 4723 for this story's date.

4922

An astronaut named Meeker qualifies for space exploration duty at this time.

Eight years prior to "The Invisible Enemy" (5000).

4970

Construction on the intergalactic spaceship S.S. Madame de Pompadour is finished.

"The Girl in the Fireplace". The ship is 37 years old in 5007.
