I live a second life. An RPG life. While hanging out together on the Gabrielle and Joxer Romantics Society mailing list, a lot of folks started role-playing together. We pretended that we all lived together in a village which we christened Joxopolis (sometimes called the Amazon Village of Love... but never around our Queen, Ephiney). In Joxopolis, we each got our own hut and we all had "Toys," any fictional character we wanted to live with us, from movies, TV, books, comics, whatever. Eventually the role-playing posts got so out of hand, and the imaginary world accompanying them grew so complex, that a seperate mailing list had to be created.

Being male, I would not normally be allowed to reside Joxopolis proper; it is an Amazon village, after all. However, Queen Ephiney has bestowed upon me the title of Proctor of Parodies, making me a member of Joxopolis royalty, such as it is.

My Hut

The hut my Toys and I reside in is actually empty but for a set of stairs leading down to the living area proper. This features a large common area based on the "Cleopatra 2525" team's HQ. Leading off from this are various bedrooms (for myself and the Toys that need to sleep), as well as a few specialized areas for certain Toys, such as Seven of Nine's Astrometics lab and Nigella Lawson's kitchen. Also in the central area are space/time portals leading to the SpaceBar in orbit around Joxopolis' moon and Dick's drive-in in another reality. I hope to be making up a map of the place... eventually.

My Adventures

A chunk of the time spent RPGing on the list involves day-to-day activities. Citizens and their Toys hang out, plays games, visit with each other or have parties. (Actually, almost any excuse will do for a Joxopolis party.)

Sometimes, however, a full-fledged, proper adventure will take place. Quests, invasions, what have you. I've edited together some of the adventures that I in particular have been involved in.

• The Great Villain Invasion of 2000: Doctor Forrester and TV's Frank from "Mystery Science Theater 3000" decide that they should run Joxopolis and recruit villains from across several realities to invade and take over. Wackiness ensues.
• Doug's Adventures Through the Multiverse: A side-effect of saving Joxopolis during the Great Villain Invasion causes me to drift through the multiverse, making me an unwilling visitor to several TV and film realities. Fortunately for me, I pick up a couple of companions on the way.
• SOS: Save Our SpaceBar! (The Director's Cut): The evil Spacenik corporation decides to shut down the SpaceBar, forcing myself and several Toys to visit the 'Bar's reality and take Spacenik on! Now featuring closing credits and outtakes. This self-indulgent little tale (okay, okay, they're all self-indulgent) follows on directly from the final episode of "SpaceBar"'s run.
